Why I created Detox in the City

Have you thought of trying a liquid-only detox? Are you concerned that something so extreme may not really work or even be good for you? You're not alone. Many people try such a detox only to find they don't enjoy an enduring benefit. In many cases, the cleanse can do more harm than good.

People have greatly misunderstood the concept of detox. When they hear the word, they think of fad diets, fasting or starvation coupled with unpleasant side effects. But science shows that detoxification requires more nutrients, not fewer. Nor does the experience have to be unpleasant.

We spend a lifetime building harmful toxins in the system. We cannot expect to get rid of them with a quick-fix. Removing stored toxins is hard work -- but can also be rejuvenating. We need to nourish the body while we cleanse -- not deprive it. In fact, when you starve, you deprive the liver and other detox organs the very nutrients they need to do their job.

Ours is a nutrient-rich program that repairs the gut and supports the liver in a focused way. It is based understanding how to enhance our body’s capacity to detoxify and get rid of waste while minimizing our exposure to toxins.

You might ask: Why do this in the city instead of on a beach or mountain resort? First, this is designed for the busy person who wishes to embark on a safe and effective detox program without having to put life on hold. So, be assured there are no crazy side-effects or hours without nourishment in this program. Also, in my work, I have seen many people jet off on a detox vacation only to find old habits recurring.

This program is done in the city, in your "real life" so that you can start making changes while leading your life. You will discover how simple steps taken daily can have a profound effect on long-term health. “Life-changing” is often used to describe this journey.

Getting your body clean is not something you do over a weekend. Nor does it require radical methods. It is a natural, empowering process.

This is what is needed for lasting change towards feeling clean -- and green.
